WHAT ARE LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS?

“The real deal!!
Grown in lab using cutting edge technologies, these laboratory-created diamonds has all the chemical, optical and physical properties of natural diamond, which was formed underground and obtained as a result of diamond mining. The lab-grown diamond is being manufactured in context with the natural diamond extracted by the process of mining or geological sector. The diamond is made of lab-grown stones and therefore exists for a long period.
Brilliance diamonds is an offshoot that will allow you to purchase flawless stones and jewellery range at affordable prices. The collection approach to the formation of the assortment allows us to offer our partners a wide selection of colourless and fancy color diamonds.
The motto of the company is the constant striving for development and improvement of work. The innovative technologies used,  allow Brilliance Group to keep up with the times, improving step by step. Since the demand for the company’s products – lab-grown diamonds – is growing, we decided to be one of the first to start promoting this product on the India market.

CVD Diamonds

““You can achieve the same brilliance and fire when cut as a gemstone!”
The chemical vapour deposition method of growing diamonds involves the method, where diamonds grow from a hydrocarbon mixture of gas that is subjected to moderate temperatures in a vacuum chamber – microwave beam is the source of energy for this process. The CVD method will continue to improve the manufacturing of larger size diamonds with improved colour and clarity that doesn’t involve the metallic inclusions.

HPHT Diamonds

“Maintaining the same hardness, durability, and brilliance!”

HPHT diamond growth process will subject to the exposure of carbons to extreme temperatures, and this involves the high pressure and high temperature methods to grow in labs. This is intended to replicate the extreme heat and pressure conditions that are found within the earth where the natural diamonds are grown – wherein the growth chamber is heated upto 1300-1600 degree Celsius. In fact, the HPHT diamond growth takes place in a small capsule inside the apparatus generating very high pressures.

Uses of Lab-Grown Diamonds

  • Can be used in jewelry due to the shiny lustre and durability
  • Can be used for industrial purposes – useful to drill, grind and cut materials
  • Can be used in beauty products as in facial and diamond exfoliator
  • Can be even used in audio equipments as they are hard and vibrant

The Environmental Impact of Diamonds

The amount of energy required to create lab-grown diamonds is immense, albeit consistently found to be half that of mined diamonds. Some companies are working to use renewable energy and capture CO2 from the atmosphere to make their gems, but more need to make this transition to reduce their climate impact.

Similarly, among traditional diamond mining companies, some have made efforts to offset the industry’s social impacts. These include building schools and medical facilities and remediating environmental impacts in regions where diamonds are mined. Given the long history of the diamond industry’s indifference to human impacts, it is better to take the mine out of the process.

There is something to be said about the one-of-a-kind stone forged from the earth – that’s what makes them so rare, valuable, and expensive. For people who are committed to sustainability in all aspects of their life, they may find themselves deciding not only between natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds — but whether they are willing to purchase any kind of stone at all. If you do opt for a diamond, choose lab-grown stones made using 100% renewable energy to lower your jewelry’s environmental impact.

Process of a Lab Grown Diamond

Starts with a thin slice of diamond seed

Carbon melts and forms into a diamond around the seed

The carbon is removed from the diamond

The rough stone is cut and polished into a diamond
